Dear Sir: During the last year the Hendricken and Russell Schools have been equipped with kitchens, making a total of ten, which necessitated the appointment of a new teacher. Classes from St. Thomas's Parochial School are being accommodated at Webster School, and special classes of backward children have been arranged for in nearly every school. Laundry equipment is being installed in most of the kitchens and lessons in this work have already been given to some extent. New meat charts have been procured for four kitchens. We are revising the course of study, giving special attention to practical and economical methods on account of the present unnatural increase in the cost of food supplies. Exhibitions were held, as our usual custom, in June, but we Would much prefer having the parents and friends visit the classes during the children's actual cooking and serving. This would be much more beneficial for both the children and us. We appreciate the helpful suggestions and co-operation we have had from the superintendent, principals, and teachers.
